Stadtturm
The 68m high, eight-storey tower in the middle of the new town, which was founded in 1218, served as a watchtower against fire and enemies, as a bell tower and a clock tower. As the first town hall tower, it was and is a symbol of Straubing's citizenship and a landmark of the city. It was begun in 1316 and only completed at the end of the 16th century with its characteristic five spires.
